Transcriptome profiling in rumen, reticulum, omasum, and abomasum tissues during the developmental transition of pre-ruminant to the ruminant in yaks

The development of the four stomachs yak is closely related to its health and performance, however underlying molecular mechanisms are largely unknown. Here, we systematically analyzed mRNAs in five growth time points [0 day, 20 days, 60 15 months 3 years (adult)] yaks. Overall, expression patterns DEmRNAs were unique at 0 d, similar d m adult stomachs. pattern abomasum was markedly different from that rumen, reticulum omasum. Short Time-series Expression Miner (STEM) analysis demonstrated multi-model spectra drastically enriched over All identified reticulum, omasum classified into 6, 4, 7, 5 cluster profiles, respectively. Modules 9, 38, 41 most significant three colored modules. By weighted gene co-expression network (WGCNA), a total 5,486 genes categorized 10 CCKBR , KCNQ1 FER1L6 A4GNT hub turquoise module, PAK6 TRIM29 ADGRF4 TGM1 TMEM79 blue module. Furthermore, functional KEGG enrichment suggested module involved gastric acid secretion, sphingolipid metabolism, ether lipid etc., pancreatic pantothenate CoA biosynthesis, starch sucrose etc. Our study aims lay basis for physiological functions It can further elucidate important roles these regulation growth, metabolism yaks, provide theoretical age-appropriate weaning supplementary feeding
